THE POWER OF WORDS
This training empowers individuals whose work involves public communication: journalists, content creators, nonprofit professionals, and researchers. It differs from other valuable educational programs in terms of scope. Rather than focusing on broader trends, the training covers the micro-level of communication: basic language tools and maneuvers. Its goal is to equip participants with the crucial skills to recognize, use, and respond to the most powerful linguistic and rhetorical devices in public speech with a high degree of awareness.
The full version of the training is five hours long and covers framing strategies, the use of metaphors and pronouns, the recognition of the most common fallacies, and the understanding of less obvious communication mechanisms. Classes focusing on one or more of the previously mentioned language devices can also be requested. Additionally, consultation sessions are available for those with a specific interest, need, or challenge (for example, related to framing or metaphors).
The trainings and consultations are delivered globally, both online and face-to-face, typically by invitation from schools, universities, media organizations, social justice and environmental NGOs, and their staff. The program is highly interactive in all formats, engaging participants in analyzing tools of language that directly impact their work and life.
