OVERCOMING COMMUNICATION CHALLENGES
Facing hurdles in communication without support can make us feel lonely, vulnerable, and helpless. This is especially true since all too often, these disempowering feelings are triggered by recurring situations and scenarios. We may regularly struggle to say no without experiencing shame or regret, unintentionally hurt those close to us, find it difficult to respond effectively to attacks on our integrity and dignity, or not feel comfortable authentically expressing care and love. These are precisely the challenges that Anna’s consultation sessions are designed to address.
It is well-established in psychology that stress triggers ‘fight, flight, freeze, or fawn’ responses in us, and this applies to our communication as well: we may hit back, retreat from a back-and-forth, become numb, or fall into people-pleasing. Although these reactions are natural and automatic, they are rarely helpful. The sessions support people in building awareness that allows them to move beyond these responses and learn to express themselves from different places. They address individual needs, focusing on overcoming the specific communication challenges a person struggles with. Some of these may relate to a particular situation, while others involve broader, more general issues.
Importantly, while the sessions are therapeutic in nature, they can only supplement and not replace professional therapy. The duration of the consultation process is not fixed: how much time will a person need for growth and empowerment—which can be felt and practiced daily—depends on the individual, the matter, and the circumstances.
